Production-ready travel booking platform with Stripe payments, slot management, and automated refunds
The Challenge
Tour operators needed a fully automated booking system that could handle fixed-date departures, per-seat capacity tracking, Stripe payments, complex tiered refund logic, and booking modifications without requiring manual admin intervention for every transaction. Existing solutions required constant staff involvement.
Our Solution
Built a Django REST + React 19 platform featuring a Stripe pay-to-confirm flow, per-departure slot tracking with timed reservation holds and lazy auto-expiry, tiered automatic refunds on cancellation, booking modifications with automatic price difference charges or partial refunds, a coupon system, an interactive Leaflet map with URL-synced filters, 10 transactional email templates via Brevo, multi-image galleries with a full-screen lightbox, and a staff analytics dashboard.
The Outcome
Delivered a fully automated booking lifecycle from discovery to payment to refunds with zero manual intervention required. Implemented 10 transactional email templates covering every booking event, an interactive destination map powered by OpenStreetMap without API key costs, a staff analytics dashboard with KPI and slot utilisation data, and dark/light theme support with OS preference detection.
